| Text: | General Packet Radio System provides an innovative and sophisticated suite of networking capabilities through GSM. Networking devices operate on the ability to packetize traffic directly. These mobile applications contain several unique characteristics that enhance the value to the customers. Networking capabilities are not strictly defined for a specific group of subscribers but they are available for all at the same time. Such a solution has several really fundamental advantages. At present mobile providers enable these services not only for current subscribers whose mobile phones support such a data transfer. They also offer services in industries e.g. data collection from technological processes, buildings security, access to firm databasis etc. In such cases it is desireable for both parts to make a survey of transfer capabilities GPRS networking. Based on these requirements there is a liasion kept and developed between the Department of Automative Measurement & Control (VŠB-TU Ostrava, The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) & RadioMobil a.s. (T-Mobile). The Contents of worked-out project can be briefly outlined in this way: 1.Measurement system proposal (test programmes) for analysis of characteristics through GPRS technologies. 2.Programme realization (client with test programmes/server). 3.Transfer capabilities measurement (delay, permeability, and loss problems) in dependence of various conditions. 4.Data evaluation. |
