Dear friends,

Year 2000 falls on the 50^th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering connected with the 150 year history of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. The representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with great pleasure invite you to the city of Ostrava to participate in the International Scientific Conference. It will be a good accassion to learn about the faculty´s educational and research activities in the past years and prospective intentions and plans.

Conference objectives:

to present the results of 50 years´ educational activities in the fields of mechanical engineering, transport and electrical engineering,

to identify specific issues in the education of mechanical engineers at universities,

to evaluate the professional profile of mechanical enginers in the Czech Republic and specify prospectives.

The goals of the individual sections are as follows:

to present the results of research projects,

to exchange experience and ideas in reseach and development,

to promote cooperation and partnerships aiming the joint projects.
